Varsity Hockey Players of the Month - October

Varsity Boys Offensive Player: #11 Zackarie Michaud
The varsity boys captain had a massive month in October, as he and his linemates, Ryan Dwyer and September Offensive Player of the Month Kamyl Chemrouk, continued to put the puck in the net. At the October CPSHA weekend hosted by the Rothesay Netherwood School, Zackarie had 6 points in 4 games, highlighted by a hat trick in a 5-2 win over the Ridley College Tigers. The second-year Spartan looks to continue his torrid start to his senior season as the Spartans look ahead to a busy month of November that features the TCF Bank International Invitational tournament in Minnesota and the Stanstead Showcase.

Varsity Boys Defensive Player: #29 Dylan Orr
As Dylan continues his rookie season at Stanstead, he has found a way to make a large impact for the team's defence. A smooth skater who frustrates the opposition with high compete and a willingness to engage in contact, Dylan has found success in shutting down the incoming attack and limiting high-quality scoring chances. Dylan's ability to transition the puck from defence to offence has been crucial to the Spartans’ attack, evidenced by his 9 points in 8 CPSHA games this season. Dylan looks to continue growing his role on a talented D core as the season continues.

Varsity Girls Offensive Player: #11 Maxim Tremblay
Maxim has continued her strong start to the season by guiding the Spartans attack through a tough month of competition and several players key players missing time due to provincial training camps. Opposing teams continue to struggle with defending Maxim's size, skating and overwhelming shot. While she scored several big goals and made several big plays for the Spartans in the month of October, her month is highlighted by her recognition as a Player of the Weekend by the Junior Women's Hockey League during the Lake Placid league weekend.

Varsity Girls Defensive Player: #25 Florence Blanchette
Florence has stepped up her game in the month of October to be a key contributor for the Spartans D core. Florence has found success by embracing her size and reach, through her excellent first pass and her quick decision-making to consistently make effective plays in all three zones of the ice. Playing primarily with Isa MacPhee, the two have been trusted to handle the opposition's top offensive player on any given night. Florence's consistent play has allowed her to contribute regularly at even strength, on the power play and shorthanded.
